TEDA’s Tech Firm Completes Financing Totaling Tens of Millions of Yuan

Recently, TEDA-based Tianjin Shiji Kangtai Biomedical Engineering Co., Ltd. secured tens of millions of yuan in Angel funding round and Series A funding round. The funds are used for the clinic trials of high-end ophthalmic devices and in-depth R&D of biomaterial collagen preparation.

Shiji Kangtai is one of only a few domestic intraocular lens manufacturers, and is also China’s leading innovation-driven platform of ophthalmic optics and biomaterials. Founded in 2008, the company has made breakthroughs in key technologies such as foldable intraocular lens and collagen sponge. The hollow-loop design of intraocular lens and the design of 625 large optical zone are the first in China, which have solved the problems such as surgery and vision recovery for cataract patients.
