Long March 7A Carrier Rocket Successfully Launches ChinaSat 1E Satellite
On Sep 13th, 2022, the Long March 7A carrier rocket successfully placed the ChinaSat 1E satellite into its intended orbit at China’s Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site. The carrier rocket was produced and assembled by Tianjin Industrialization Base for China’s Next-gen Carrier Rocket located in TEDA West. The Long March 7A carrier rocket is the main configuration of China’s new generation of medium-sized carrier rockets. It has a geosynchronous transfer orbit capacity of up to 7 tons, filling the gap between 5.5 tons and 7 tons capacity of China’s carrier rockets in high orbit, and has the ability to launch one satellite or two major satellites at a time.
As a new space industry compound representing China’s space technology level, Tianjin Industrialization Base for China’s Next-gen Carrier Rocket integrates carrier rocket parts production, component assembly, final assembly testing and trials. The production of parts and components, assembly and testing of the new generation of large-sized carrier rockets namely Long March 5 and Long March 5B, as well as medium-sized carrier rockets Long March 7, Long March 7A and Long March 8, are all completed here.
