Phase I of Beijing Gas Tianjin Nangang Project Completes
Recently, the first phase of Beijing Gas Tianjin Nangang LNG Emergency Reserve Project passed acceptance, which lays a solid hardware foundation for the project to be put into operation in the next stage.
The Beijing Gas Tianjin Nangang Project will be built in three phases. Phase I includes an LNG terminal with an annual capacity of 5 million tons, four LNG storage tanks, and a receiving station gasification facility with a daily gasification capacity of 60 million cubic meters and its related ancillary facilities. The first phase will achieve an emergency peaking capacity of not less than 480 million cubic meters after commissioning. The six storage tanks of the second and third phases are expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023 and 2024 respectively. By then, the project will achieve an emergency gas storage capacity of 1.2 billion cubic meters, which will further strengthen the interconnection of gas enterprises in Beijing, Tianjin and province of Hebei. It will also improve the emergency security capability of the gas supply system, and promote regional clean energy transformation efforts and low-carbon transformation.
