A Supporting Wharf for Nangang Ethylene Project to Start Construction
Recently, the Nangang Ethylene project of Sinopec Tianjin Branch has seen new progress in the wharf construction for the external procurement of light hydrocarbon raw materials. The wharf project has successfully passed the expert review of shoreline utilization, laying a solid foundation for its construction. This will further support the rapid development of TEDA’s Nangang Industrial Zone.
The wharf is located in the Dagang port area of Tianjin Port, and it will have one berth with a capacity of 50,000 tons for liquefied hydrocarbons. The designed annual throughput is 1.81 million tons, with a shoreline utilization length of 282 meters. It mainly serves the cluster industrial project of 1.2 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end new materials in Nangang Industrial Zone. According to the preliminary overall planning, the Nangang Ethylene project requires the external procurement of ethane raw materials. After the completion of this project, it will meet the needs of loading and unloading ships for externally purchased ethane and other materials, fully ensuring the project’s raw material supply and safety in production.
