Volkswagen Establishes R&D Center in TEDA
On February 6, Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch was established in TEDA, marking the official commencement of operations. The new company serves as a crucial auto components R&D institution for Volkswagen.
As a significant production base of key components for Volkswagen in China, TEDA has realized mass production of various key products including dual-clutch automatic transmissions of DQ series and DL series, the APP310 power motor,etc. Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. is the largest R&D center outside the Group’s headquarters in Germany. It provides technical support to FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen, and Volkswagen Anhui.
Leveraging TEDA’s solid automotive industrial foundation and sufficient technological talents supply, Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch will focus on the development of new energy vehicle powertrain components. Through in-depth collaboration with component enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, it aims to strengthen Volkswagen’s R&D and production capabilities in key components of new energy vehicles, and make Tianjin an important base of component R&D and production for Volkswagen in China.
