2024 China-France Young Leaders Program Held in Tianjin

The 2024 China-France Young Leaders Program, co-organized by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and the France China Foundation, was successfully held in Tianjin March 21-23. Over 60 young leaders from fields including government, business and academia of the two sides had various forms of exchanges during the forum.

During their stay in Tianjin, the delegation of young leaders from China and France visited Tianjin Port, Airbus (Tianjin) Final Assembly Co., Ltd., Ancient Cultural Street and the Tianjin Conservatory of Music.

Zhu Peng, vice-mayor of Tianjin, met with the young leaders from China and France. He introduced the latest developments in Tianjin’s economic and social development to the delegates, spoke highly of the Sino-French relationship and the Sino-French Young Leaders Forum.

Nicolas Macquin, co-president of the France China Foundation, said: “I think the mission of the France China Foundation is really to develop the dialogue between both countries. We set up together this organization more than 12 years ago on the basis that we had to develop a relationship among highly talented professionals. And I think our group today, both from France and China, is a good example of the community we created. So we have diplomats, politicians, entrepreneurs, artists, and trade -- the diversity of background that both countries can have.”

Christoph Schrempp, general manager of Airbus (Tianjin) Delivery Centre Ltd., said that the success of this cooperation between Tianjin and Airbus is not only limited to Tianjin and it also involves its environment, other companies and other cities for growth.

The representatives said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. They expressed their willingness to continue the traditional friendship, deepen Sino-French cooperation, and actively promote the development of Sino-French relations in the new era through local exchanges and cooperation.
