Green Plogging: New Fashion

In order to promote the communication and interaction between the government and enterprises, condense and enhance enterprises’ determination and confidence in economic development, and in combination with the overall requirements of Binhai New Area to create a national civilized city, TEDA Administrative Commission and TEDA Social Management Commission jointly conducted the 2020 Plogging activity on September 12, 2020. This is the first large-scale interaction between the government and enterprises in TEDA since the epidemic. It is also an activity of building a civilized city by multi participants. With theme of “Create Together, Empower Future”, the activity was jointly participated by entrepreneurs in TEDA, leaders of TEDA CPC Committee, TEDA Administrative Commission and TEDA Street, functional departments, state-owned enterprises and local governments, and representatives of excellent teachers. Ma Jianjun, member of TEDA CPC Standing Committee, attended the activity.

Plogging is quite simply cleaning up while jogging. Participants pick up cigarette butts, paper scraps, plastic bags and other sundries on the ground, and classify the garbage briefly. Meanwhile, they also dissuade the uncivilized behaviors such as littering and spitting.

All participants were divided into ten teams, starting from Warner Community, Furui Community, TEDA No.1 Primary School, TEDA Middle School and Gediao Linquan. After arriving at the destination, TEDA No.2 Stadium, they continued to participate in the environmental protection sports competition combining sports with garbage classification and environmental protection knowledge. Finally, according to the comprehensive points of garbage collection and civilized persuasion of each team, the winning team of plogging was determined, and this team was awarded by the medal of Best Plogging Team of the Year. According to the results of the environmental protection sports competition, medals will be awarded to the champion, the first runner up and the second runner up.

The activity took the form of a combination of public welfare and sports. More than 300 participants from over 200 enterprises including FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin Branch, HongFuJin Precision Electronics (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., Sinopec Tianjin Natural Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd., ICBC Leasing, Vitesco Automotive Tianjin Co., Ltd., Tianjin Tianyao Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., Lizhong Group, Tianjin Laird Technology Co., Ltd., Cabot and other companies, communicated and interacted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

This activity highlighted the phase victory of prevention and control of the epidemic in TEDA, promoted the deepening implementation of the concept of “Industry and Entrepreneur First”, showed the vigorous vitality of TEDA, and jointly created the theme of civilized and harmonious city. The activity further stimulated entrepreneurs’ confidence in operating their own businesses in TEDA and strengthened the construction of close and clean relationship between the government and enterprises.
