Otis to Boost Collaboration with Tianjin

Tianjin Municipal People’s Government and Otis signed a strategic cooperation agreement in order to boost their collaboration on smart manufacturing, elevator modernization, aftermarket services, and talent development. Additionally, TEDA Administrative Commission and Tianjin BENEFO Machinery Equipment Group Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation framework agreement with Otis Elevator (China) Co., Ltd for elevator modernization.

Boman Group Sets Up China Headquarters in TEDA, Highlighting China-Australia Cooperation

The Australian investor, Boman Group (formerly known as BMYG Financial Group), set up its China headquarters in TEDA on November 18. It is expected to provide Chinese enterprises with one-stop specialized services, covering investment consulting, project incubation, financing services, ASX listing guides, cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and fund custody. Additionally, the China-Australia Industry and Capital Cooperation Forum was held in TEDA on the same day. At the forum, the Australia Outbound Enterprise Service Platform established by the Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone Cross-Border Investment and Financing Service Center was unveiled. A $1-billion China-Australia Industry Investment Fund was launched by Boman Group. Agreements were signed between Boman China and China Construction Bank Tianjin Branch and other four institutions to jointly strengthen cooperation on investments for Chinese and Australian enterprises.

Tianjin Nangang 1.2 Mln Tons/Year Ethylene Project Begins Production

Sinopec’s project of Tianjin Nangang 1.2 Million Tons/Year Ethylene and Downstream High-End New Materials Cluster started up successfully and produced qualified products. The start of operation marks a milestone as Sinopec Tianjin Base reaches an annual ethylene production capacity of 2.5 million tons, making it one of Sinopec’s largest ethylene production bases. The project is expected to inject momentum to hundred-billion-yuan-scale downstream industries, and foster Tianjin to be a front-runner in fine chemicals and new materials sectors.

Project Begins Production in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone

The first phase of the seawater desalination and integrated utilization project invested by XIANDA (Tianjin) Seawater Resources Development Co., Ltd. went into production in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone. The first phase has built five production lines with a daily fresh water production capacity of 150,000 tons, capable of substituting for 50 million tons of surface water annually. The XIANDA seawater desalination project is a key collaborative effort under the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Malaysia and also the largest one in North China.

China’s First Cold & Heat Energy Exchange Station into Production in TEDA Nangang

Sinopec launched China’s first cold and heat energy exchange station in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone. This project achieves integrated energy utilization of an LNG receiving terminal with large-scale petrochemical production facilities for the first time in China. The annual treatment capacity of over 2.6 million tons of products is expected to save 13 million cubic meters of natural gas and 3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. It serves as a key role model for further promoting China’s green and low-carbon energy transition.

World’s Largest Pilot Plant Project Makes New Progress

The pilot plant of multifunctional solution polymerization at the Tianjin Science and Experimental Base of Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry (BRICI) successfully started up the first try. The facilities adopt the solution polymerization technologies independently developed by the Tianjin Base, being capable of producing a range of new ethylene-vinyl elastomer products. Located in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone, the Tianjin Base is an important part of Sinopec’s Nangang high-end new materials industry cluster. It is expected to be the world’s largest pilot plant for chemical new materials with the largest volume and the most comprehensive research scope.

TEDA Welcomes National-level Conference and Nangang Green Petroleum and Chemical Innovation Center

The 2024 China Petroleum and Chemical Private Economy High-Quality Development Conference (CPCPEC) was held in TEDA. Nearly 1,000 guests attended the conference, including representatives from the government, petroleum and chemical central SOEs and SOEs, top petroleum and chemical private enterprises, single item champion enterprises, specialized and innovative “little giants”, as well as leading research institutions and universities. The China Petroleum and Chemical Private Enterprises Development Report was released, and the Nangang Green Petroleum and Chemical Innovation Center was unveiled at the conference.

2024 Auto Finance Industry Summit Opens

The 2024 Auto Finance Industry Summit opened in TEDA Yuxiang area. It is aimed to promote orderly competition of the auto finance sector to achieve exponential growth. Over 500 guests from governments, associations, enterprises, and research institutions gathered together to share insights for the development of the sector. In addition, the 2024 Auto Finance Service Satisfaction Ranking was released at the summit to promote the healthy growth of China’s auto finance industry.
