Introduction
The Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park is committed to building a nationally influential sci-tech park and a new economy hub. As a key hub for the Coordinated Development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, it leads the paradigm of coordinated development in the region. It serves the industrial transformation and upgrading of the Binhai New Area, seizing opportunities for the outbreak of new industries and formats. The park fully leverages the advantages of policy convergence to create a comprehensive environment for entrepreneurship incubation, education, healthcare, business, residence, and related facilities, forming a conducive environment for work and life.
The park focuses on the back-end of engineering technology innovation and demonstration applications. It develops digital-driven technology services and is actively positioned in intelligent technology, new energy and new materials, and life and comprehensive health industries. By 2024, the Binhai–Zhongguancun Science Park had registered 5,816 enterprises with a total registered capital of over 250 billion yuan. Among them, 250 National High-tech Enterprises, 356 National Sci-tech SMEs, and 202 Eyas Enterprises have been included in the official databases.
Currently, Tianjin’s first large-scale M0 new industrial land project located in the park—the Binhai–Zhongguancun Beitangwan Digital Economy Industrial Park—is under construction. The project covers 251,000 m², with 173,000 m² of floor area in Phase I.
In 2024, the Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park was designated as the core area of the “Tianjin Binhai New Area Sci-Tech Innovation Zone,” with the International Joint Academy of Biomedicine, Tianjin University of Science & Technology, and the adjacent Yat-sen Intelligence & Innovation Park placed under unified administration by the Science Park. All of these are ministered by TEDA.
