Diverse Cultural Facilities at Your Place

In TEDA, there are more than 5,000 foreigners from over 30 countries and regions and people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The “new residents of TEDA”, including investors, residents and industrial workers with different nationalities and cultures, live together. Cultural Facilities

The high-level social and cultural development of TEDA has promoted the cultural activities in the area. Increasingly diversified and multi-level cultural facilities such as Binhai Cultural Center can satisfy both the demand of residents for high-quality life and that of investors for high-standard investment environment.

Binhai Cultural Center:

It is a compound cultural complex in the area, devoted to building a large-scale cultural flagship integrating education, tourism and health. Its design idea is leading in the whole country. The center consists of Binhai Library, Binhai Art Gallery, Binhai Museum of Science and Technology, Binhai Performing Art Center, Binhai Citizen Activity Center and Cultural Corridor.

Cultural Landscape

In TEDA, there are many tourist attractions with the characteristics of “sea” and “Tianjin”, such as: Beitang Ancient Town, a town with a long history; Haichang Ocean Park, the largest single oceanarium in the world; Dagukou Fort Site Museum, one of the Top 10 tourist attractions in Tianjin; and Dagu Dock Site Memorial.

Beitang Ancient Town:

With a history of more than 600 years, it is the only ancient town with the original town structure in Binhai New Area. It is near river and sea, known as a “town on sea in North China”. Nowadys, when Binhai attracts attention of the world, this town is at the forefront again, and the  prosperous business of 600 years ago reappears to the world, which integrates tourism, culture, commerce and historic relics, and perfectly combines ancient culture with modern tourism.

Dagu Dock:

Beiyang Fleet Dagu Dock Site Memorial shows vividly the difficulties in building of Dagu Dock and its remarkable contribution to the coast defense of China by pictures, objects and models. In January 2018, this memorial was listded in the first batch of industrial heritage protection in China.

Tianjin Haichang Polar Ocean World:

Located in Xiangluowan business district of TEDA, it is the largest single polar ocean park in China. With distinctive ocean characteristics, the unique polar region landscape and the atmosphere of the harmonious coexistence between human and nature, the park becomes a special scenic spot in TEDA, Tianjin and even North China.

Dagukou Fort:

It is also called “barrier of Tianjin”. In the modern history of China, Humen Fort in South China and Dagu Fort in North China were two important and famous coast defense barriers. Dagu Fort Site, known as “ancient fort for coast defense”, has been chosen as one of the Top 10 tourist attractions in Tianjin.

Urban Parks: Beautiful Scenery with Integration of Water and Green

In TEDA, there are several urban parks such as Taifeng Park,and Ziyun Park which have lush trees and lucid waters, bringing the charm of nature to the area.

Taifeng Park:  

The park is the most characteristic landmark in TEDA, with a total area of 216,000 square meters. As a large-scale manmade landscape park built on former salinaIt, it has “open forest, grassplot, gentle slope and still water” as its theme landscape in different season.

Ziyun Park:  

It is an ecological park chosen as one of the “Top 10 Civilized Places” in Binhai New Area. With a coverage of 330,000 square meters, the park has 7 peaks of different styles, in which the main peak is 31.9m high. In the park, there are about 400,000 trees and other plants in more than 100 species. Integrating lake, mountain and forest into a whole, the park demonstrates magnificent scenery including mountain, water, sinuous paths, and randomly positioned strange rocks.

Caidai Island:  

A landmark landscape in the Central Business District, is like a colored ribbon located at the outer edge of Xiangluowan Binhe Center. The more than 4,000 colored-leaf trees and ground cover plants of diversified species make the park “colored in three seasons and green in four seasons”.

TEDA Landscape Plant Repository:  

As the largest plant repository in North China, TEDA Landscape Plant Repository is located on the Eighth Avenue in TEDA, covering a total area of 260,000 square meters. In this repository, 11 special gardens have been preliminarily built, respectively Baicao Garden, Qianhui Garden, Shuizhi Garden, Jifang Garden, Lanchun Garden, Yueji Garden, Mudan Garden, Yansheng Garden, Baihua Garden, Caiye Garden and Diecui Garden, which are homes of nearly 6,000 species of plants (including cultivated species).

TEDA Tropical Botanical Garden:  

There are jatropha podagrica trees in TEDA Tropical Botanical Garden where is the only place in China that has such tree. In addition, the whole garden is highly modernized and intelligent. Here, visitors can enjoy plants and natural landscapes of different regions with electronic devices.
