Tayron NF Taillight Project of Hella Faway Tianjin Base Starts Production

The Volkswagen Tayron NF taillight project of Hella Faway Automotive Lighting (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. began production in TEDA Industrial Park. The project, primarily for producing car lights for the Tayron model, includes two production lines with an annual capacity of 540,000 sets. Hella Faway Tianjin Base plans to include four production lines in two phases. The first phase, which has now started production, is for the Volkswagen Tayron NF taillight project. Once fully operational, the project is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of over 1 million sets, capable of supplying 458,000 cars.

20-Millionth Volkswagen Car Rolls off FAW-Volkswagen Production Line in TEDA

An all-new Tayron L, the 20-millionth Volkswagen-brand vehicle manufactured by FAW-Volkswagen, rolled off the production line at the company’s Tianjin production base. Becoming operational in 2018 in TEDA, the Tianjin base is now a role model for smart manufacturing and a benchmark for sustainability of the FAW-Volkswagen brand. The base is playing a key role in driving the collaborative development of the entire auto industrial chain in TEDA and Tianjin.

World’s Largest EPS Manufacturer Enters Trial Production in TEDA

The first phase of the EPS (expanded polystyrene) project in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone, invested by the world’s largest EPS manufacturer Loyal Group, started trial production. This project is Loyal’s largest PS (polystyrene) production base globally. With a total investment of about US$ 138 million, it is designed to have an annual capacity of 500,000 tons in two phases. The first phase is expected to produce 200,000 tons of EPS annually, which will further extend the styrene industrial chain in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone.

TEDA’s Digital Service Exports Show Prominent Clustering Effect

Multiple TEDA-based enterprises won awards at the 13th China International Service Outsourcing Expo. Since approved as one of China’s earliest National-level Digital Service Export Bases in 2020, TEDA has fostered five major digital industry clusters including digital intelligent manufacturing, digital platforms, digital content, digital marine, and digital space, forming a three-dimensional land-sea-air digital industry network. In 2023, TEDA’s digital delivery service exports value totaled about US$ 2.5 billion, showing a visible trend of integration between digital trade and the real economy.

The Workstation fills the gap in Tianjin’s one-stop service for foreigners in areas like career development, cultural exchange, residency, education, and many other aspects. By streamlining paperwork and procedures, TEDA became a pacesetter in Tianjin, in offering foreigners the convenience of finishing work permits, residence permits, employment registration, insurance registration, etc. through just one visit to the Exit-Entry service counter, with service scope covering the entire city.

Tianjin Binhai New Area IPR Protection Center Expands Patent Pre-examination Service, the Second of Its Kind in China

China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) approved the Tianjin Binhai New Area Intellectual Property Protection Center, located in TEDA Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park, to expand its patent pre-examination service scope from the administrative area of Tianjin Binhai New Area to 28 science parks across Tianjin. This center therefore became the second national-level IPR protection center in China to expand its patent pre-examination services. It will provide fast patent pre-examination in the fields of high-end equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, new energy, etc. for innovation entities from key science parks, key universities and research institutions in Tianjin.
