World’s Only! Swiss Gurit Global Advanced Composites R&D Center Established in TEDA  

World-renowned composites producer Swiss Gurit Holding AG will launch the construction of a global advanced composites R&D center in TEDA. This will be Gurit’s only R&D center worldwide, focusing primarily on the development and analytical testing of PET material performance metrics. A pilot production line will also be set up at its manufacturing base in TEDA for process development. The project is expected to be officially operational by the end of this year.

15 Billion Yuan! ICBC Leasing Capital Increase Approved

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has received regulatory approval to inject 15 billion yuan into its wholly-owned subsidiary, ICBC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. Following this capital increase, ICBC Leasing’s registered capital will reach 33 billion yuan, further solidifying its position as a global leader and the largest financial leasing company in China by registered capital. This move will also contribute to Tianjin’s efforts to establish a high-standard demonstration zone for financial innovation and operations.

Sinopec Catalyst Tianjin New Material Production Base Puts Another Unit into Operation

Sinopec Catalyst (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. has launched production at its new facility in the TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone, which includes a 200-ton-per-year spherical polypropylene catalyst unit and a 500-ton-per-year carrier unit. On this unit, Sinopec’s proprietary complete set of process technology is employed, which is internationally leading in technical level. The spherical polypropylene catalyst it produces can meet the market's diverse demands for high-performance polypropylene materials.

TEDA Enterprises Fill the Gap in Domestic Air Traffic Control Equipment  

The Civil Aviation Administration of China issued a provisional civil aviation use license for the domestically produced ILS900 Instrument Landing System to TEDA enterprise Tianjin 764 Communication Navigation Technology Co., Ltd. This marks the full localization of 23 categories of air traffic control communication, navigation, and surveillance equipment in China. The newly licensed ILS900 Instrument Landing System features an all-digital design and is the only product of its kind in the country to have received a provisional license.
