Tianjin’s First Belt and Road Intellectual Property Workstation Inaugurated
Recently, the China Enterprise Global Expansion to Egypt (Tianjin TEDA) Intellectual Property Workstation held its inauguration ceremony, marking the official launch of Tianjin’s first specialized intellectual property assistance platform dedicated to supporting industrial parks going global. This initiative represents a significant step by TEDA in implementing the Belt and Road Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Strategy, as well as a key measure to further enhance international services and safeguard the international development of enterprises in the region.
At the unveiling ceremony, Tianjin Intellectual Property Protection Center, Egypt TEDA Special Economic Zone Development Company, and Shanghai Randy (Tianjin) Law Firm signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly establish the Tianjin Foreign-Related Intellectual Property Protection Workstation. The workstation will establish an “24-Hour Egypt-Tianjin Intellectual Property Rights Protection Response Mechanism,” strengthening coordination and cooperation in key areas such as trademark layout, patent early warning, customs protection, cross-border patent transformation, training, and capacity building. It aims to effectively resolve intellectual property challenges faced by enterprises during investment and trade activities in Egypt, escorting them smoothly overseas. Meanwhile, the workstation will also provide full-chain intellectual property services for Chinese enterprises in the Sino-Egyptian·TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and throughout Egypt.
As one of the earliest development zones in China to engage in international cooperation, TEDA will leverage the workstation to establish a green channel for point-to-point overseas intellectual property services. It will support local enterprises in taking priority part in the construction of the Sino-Egyptian·TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, promote the application of enterprises’ intellectual properties within the cooperation zone, and provide comprehensive support and protection for intellectual property rights enforcement in Tianjin for enterprises operating within the zone.
