China High-tech FDI Surges 32.7% in First 7 Months

China's high-tech industries saw strong growth in foreign investment in the first seven months of 2026, pointing to continued improvement in the structure of foreign capital inflows, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce on Friday.
Foreign direct investment in the country's high-tech industries rose 32.7 percent year-on-year to 182.31 billion yuan ($27.13 billion) during the January-July period, accounting for 41.6 percent of the country's total FDI inflows, up 12.2 percentage points from a year earlier, the ministry said in an online statement.
The manufacturing sector attracted 109.43 billion yuan in foreign investment between January and July, while the services sector received 319.95 billion yuan, according to the ministry.
By source, investment from Saudi Arabia surged 343.7 percent year-on-year, while investment from France and South Korea rose 36.1 percent and 15.8 percent respectively.
