On the afternoon of March 20, a delegation of secretary generals from various provincial chambers of commerce in Shanghai, organized by the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, visited TEDA for a visit and discussion. The event aimed to establish an efficient platform for interaction between provincial chambers of commerce in Shanghai and TEDA, enhance mutual understanding, further promote north-south collaboration, leverage complementary strengths, and foster coordinated regional development. Jin Xianghua, Vice Chairwoman of the TEDA Administrative Commission, attended the symposium and engaged in in-depth discussions with the delegation.

During the symposium, Jin Xianghua extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She noted that provincial chambers of commerce in Shanghai, serving as a bridge between the government and enterprises, have played an active role in resource integration, business services, and improving the business environment. As one of the first national-level economic development zones, TEDA has, after over 40 years of development, built a strong industrial foundation and a comprehensive innovation ecosystem. Jin Xianghua expressed that TEDA welcomes provincial chambers of commerce in Shanghai to gain a deeper understanding of TEDA and Tianjin’s investment environment, and looks forward to collaborating with entrepreneurs from across the country to share development opportunities.

Representatives from TEDA Steering Office of Investment Promotion highlighted TEDA’s key industries and diverse application scenarios. TEDA has established industrial clusters in automobiles and high-end equipment, next-generation information technology, chemical and new materials, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and modern services. Currently, it is accelerating the development of scenario-based innovations in areas such as green and low-carbon initiatives, smart cities, public services, and industrial upgrading, continuously expanding opportunities for businesses and driving high-quality regional development.

Zhu Yanfeng, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, stated that this visit provided a platform for communication and exchange between provincial chambers of commerce in Shanghai and TEDA. He hoped to use this opportunity to strengthen interactions between entrepreneurs from Jiangsu and Tianjin, fully leverage the chamber’s role in resource integration, and encourage more high-quality enterprises to expand beyond Jiangsu and Shanghai to explore cooperation opportunities and achieve greater growth in TEDA.

Representatives including Li Jia, Secretary General of the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and Zhao Lili, Executive President of the Tianjin University Alumni Association in Shanghai, also shared their thoughts. They unanimously agreed that TEDA possesses a strong industrial base and a vibrant innovation atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for enterprises looking to expand northward and explore new markets. They expressed hope for stronger economic and trade interactions in the future, promoting resource sharing and complementary advantages among chambers of commerce to facilitate collaboration along the industrial chain.

The delegation also visited the Binhai New Area Industry Exchange and Exhibition Center at the InterContinental Hotel, gaining insight into the achievements of Binhai New Area, particularly TEDA, in the course of reform and opening-up, as well as its dynamic industrial development.
