TEDA Hosts Medical Device Industry Alliance Innovation Conference

On May 22, the 2026 TEDA Medical Device Industry Alliance Innovation Conference was successfully held. Over 200 representatives from government agencies, medical institutions, universities, and industry leaders gathered to chart a new chapter for the sector. This conference marks a significant initiative by TEDA to deepen its full-chain industrial layout and foster a high-quality medical device ecosystem.
At the conference, a series of major cooperation projects were officially signed. The Tianjin International Medical Procurement Center entered into strategic agreements with the TEDA Medical Device Industry Alliance and HARBIOS, focusing on expanding global market access for enterprises and enhancing industrial supporting services. Mindray established a comprehensive cooperation framework with the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin; the two parties will leverage TEDA's resources to jointly build an innovation laboratory and pursue deep cooperation in smart healthcare. Additionally, Reach Surgical and Jinya Electronics signed an industrial cooperation agreement to collaborate on supply chain support for high-end medical devices.
During the conference, TEDA, in collaboration with key enterprises, unveiled regional supporting platforms focused on overseas expansion services, AI-powered chronic disease management, advanced medical polymer materials, and medical sterilization hubs. Furthermore, TEDA Hospital and TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital introduced new opportunities for clinical research and medical-industrial translation. Leading enterprises, including Mindray, MicroPort, Sinomed, and Century Healthcare, showcased their cutting-edge technologies and innovative product portfolios.

As a national industrialization demonstration base for the biomedical industry, TEDA is now home to over 100 medical device enterprises, establishing four dominant specialized fields, namely implantable and interventional devices, surgical instruments, in-vitro diagnostic reagents, and professional medical services. In 2025, TEDA's medical device industry achieved a significant milestone, with both its total industrial output and the number of new Class III medical device registrations accounting for more than one-quarter of the city's totals, demonstrating a trajectory of high-quality and high-efficiency development. Moving forward, TEDA will continue to expand its industrial network, integrate innovative resources, and enhance service platforms to establish the "TEDA Paradigm" for the integrated development of the medical device industry.
