Building Two Major Centers
NXP Semiconductors Tianjin IC Test Center kicked off construction in 2020 and was put into operation in 2022. In May 2021, NXP’s first AI application innovation center was launched in TEDA. With latest technologies from NXP, the Innovation Center serves as an accelerator for the development and promotion of more AI applications. It empowers local customers, especially SMEs. In January 2022, NXP’s next generation of AI IoT and automotive electronics chip projects were launched at the Tianjin University Science and Technology Park.
Samsung
Building on Its Long-term Presence in TEDA
In 2020, the MLCC Binhai Expansion Phase-III of Tianjin Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co., Ltd. passed completion acceptance. As a high-capacity and high-output-value modern electronics plant marked by globally cutting-edge equipments and first-class production processes, the plant was planned as one of Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ major overseas MLCC production bases. In the first half of 2022, the NS production line of Samsung Battery became operational. These mega projects attracted more upstream and downstream clients to Tianjin and visibly contributed to the region’s industrial upgrading.
