Broadening Global Vision and Empowering Investment Promotion with Precision: TEDA Holds Themed Training for Investment Promotion Team

On the afternoon of January 16, the "TEDA Investment Promotion Team Themed Training", planned and organized by the TEDA Investment Promotion Office, was held at Baoxin Tower in TEDA. The training featured Dr Robert Xiao, Beijing Director of Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Xiao provided in-depth insights into hot topics such as global geopolitics and economic trends, China's economic development, the overseas expansion of Chinese enterprises, and the impact of recent international relations on foreign investment promotion. The training aimed to help TEDA’s investment promotion team grasp global economic dynamics and industrial opportunities, further enhancing the effectiveness of investment promotion efforts. Attendees included the head of the TEDA International Chamber of Commerce, senior executives from multiple member enterprises of the Chamber, as well as  investment promotion supervisors from various departments of the TEDA Administrative Commission and its affiliated SOEs.  

During the session, Dr. Xiao systematically outlined the evolution of the global geopolitical and economic landscape, analyzing the challenges and opportunities brought by the external environment to investment promotion from the perspectives of tariffs, trade friction, future industry development, and major-country relations. He also analyzed China’s current macroeconomic situation, covering hot topics such as overcapacity and anti-involution. Additionally, by examining the new trends in the overseas expansion of Chinese enterprises, he provided insights into how local governments can empower businesses to go global and discussed the practical impact of recent international events on investment promotion, offering actionable guidance for frontline investment promotion managers. Following the presentation, representatives from enterprises and TEDA investment promotion team had in-depth discussions with the speaker.

The training effectively enhanced the global vision and analytical capability of local investment promotion team, providing important guidance for future targeted investment promotion efforts. Moving forward, the TEDA investment promotion team will proactively embrace global industrial, supply, and innovation chains. With a broader vision, sharper industrial insights, and more pragmatic service measures, the team will further improve the quality and efficiency of project implementation, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
