Forward-looking Planning and Targeted Investment Promotion: TEDA Holds Training Session on Future Industries Investment

01-26-2026

TEDA organized a training session on future industries investment on the afternoon of January 23 to offer an in-depth understanding of future industry trends and facilitate better regional investment promotion. The event was planned and coordinated by TEDA Sterring Office of Investment Promotion, with the TEDA Science and Technology Bureau assisting in inviting Ms. Shen Wenqi, Manager of the Great Wall Strategy Consultants, as the keynote speaker. The training aimed to thoroughly implement the TEDA Cultivation and Development Action Plan on Future Industries (2025–2027), provided strong support for TEDA to build a "4+2+X" future industries system, and established a nationally leading future industry pilot zone. Participants included key investment promotion personnel from various departments of the TEDA Administrative Commission and its affiliated enterprises.

During the session, Shen Wenqi delivered a presentation on the development trend of future industries in China, TEDA’s "4+2+X" future industries system, and potential clients in key sectors. The focus was on four pillar industries—nucleic acid-based drugs, biomanufacturing, general artificial intelligence, and foundational and critical materials; two cutting-edge sectors—embodied intelligence and automotive-grade chips; and multiple potential X sectors, such as future healthcare, nanomanufacturing, and software-defined interconnect chips. She provided an in-depth analysis of the pathways for cultivating future industries and offered targeted investment promotion strategies. Following the presentation, Shen answered the questions to frontline investment promotion staff. Attendees noted that the training combined macro-level national analysis with practical guidance on investment promotion, offering clear directions and actionable methods for precise investment promotion efforts.

TEDA officially issued and implemented the TEDA Cultivation and Development Action Plan on Future Industries (2025–2027) on December 30, 2025. Based on TEDA’s industrial foundation and inherent advantages, the Action Plan clearly outlines the goal of building a "4+2+X" future industry system. Through ten key initiatives, TEDA aims to establish a cluster of future industries with national influence by 2027, creating a "TEDA model" for future industry pilot zones.
