SDI Chips Launches JXW8848 PCIe Switch Expansion Card

Recently, SDI Chips Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., a company based in TEDA, officially launched its independently developed JXW8848 PCIe Switch Expansion Card. The product is equipped with China's first fully independent and controllable PCIe Gen4 Switch chip, filling a technological gap in the domestic PCIe expansion field.

The newly released expansion card demonstrates notable advantages in both design and performance. In terms of hardware architecture, the card features an upstream PCIe x8 edge connector for stable connection to the host PCIe slot and sufficient bandwidth acquisition. Downstream, it is configured with five PCIe ×8 MCIO interfaces, each capable of independently connecting to high-speed peripherals such as GPU acceleration cards and NVMe SSDs via cables. This design effectively addresses industry bottlenecks like insufficient PCIe slots on traditional motherboards and limited device connectivity, enabling efficient parallel expansion of multiple devices on a single host. Furthermore, the expansion card boasts broad compatibility, seamlessly adapting to both scenarios with demanding computational requirements, such as AI training and scientific computing, and fields with stringent data transmission security needs, including finance and healthcare.

Established in TEDA in 2020, SDI Chips Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. is dedicated to the research, production, and sales of core chips for China's new infrastructure. To date, the company has filed over 100 intellectual property applications and secured 95 invention patents. It possesses original technologies in RapidIO embedded system interconnection and software-defined interconnection, having launched multiple domestically pioneered chips such as the RapidIO switch chip NRS1800, software-defined interconnection switch chip SDI3210, endogenous security switch chip ESW5610, and bridge chip PRB0400. Additionally, more than 10 chips are currently under development.
