Sinopec Catalyst’s Tianjin New Materials Production Base Breaks Ground

Recently, Tianjin New Materials Production Base (phase-1) of Sinopec Catalyst (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. held ground breaking ceremony online. It’s the company’s first catalyst production base in Tianjin, and also one of 11 key projects invested by Sinopec in Nangang Industrial Zone.

The project will be built in two phases with a total investment of 6.5 billion yuan. Phase 1 focuses on the construction of 1000-ton per year silver catalyst devices, 650-ton per year polyolefin catalyst devices and supporting facilities, which will be completed in March 2024. Phase 2 is for new products such as molecular sieves, battery cathode materials and new aluminum-based materials. After the completion of the project, it will effectively promote the adjustment, transformation and upgrading of the catalyst industrial structure, promote the products to a new high, and help Nangang Industrial Zone to build a world-class new chemical material base.
