Sinopec RIPP Project Starts Construction in Nangang

Recently, the Tianjin Scientific Experiment Base project of Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, located in the Nangang Industrial Zone of TEDA, officially commenced construction. With an investment of approximately 1.6 billion yuan, the project focuses on the research and pilot scale-up of refining technology transformation and upgrading, as well as related technologies in new energy, new materials, and circular economy. The aim is to establish a green, low-carbon energy and chemical pilot-scale experiment technology platform. The project will also construct a pilot-scale experiment production base with a capacity of 6,000 tons/year (Phase I) for specialty lubricants and supporting base oils and additives. After the project is commissioned, it will contribute to filling domestic gaps in key technologies and products, enhancing the R&D capabilities of the Nangang Industrial Zone and the petrochemical industry in Tianjin.
