FAW-Volkswagen Reinvests 2.3 Billion Yuan in TEDA

TEDA Administrative Commission and FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. officially signed an investment cooperation agreement for the introduction of three new vehicle models. According to the agreement, FAW-Volkswagen will invest more than 2.3 billion yuan to introduce three SUV models under the Audi and Volkswagen brands at the FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin Branch. These models are expected to begin production successively since 2026 and will boost the production value of Tianjin’s auto parts companies by approximately 10 billion yuan. Additionally, two of the three models will be new energy vehicles, which will further strengthen and complete the new energy vehicle industry chain in TEDA and Tianjin.

The FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin Branch was established in TEDA in 2016 and began production in 2018. It is one of the most advanced factories in the Volkswagen Group’s global network and has successively produced five SUV models: the Tayron, the new generation Audi Q3, Audi Q3 Sportback, Tayron GTE, and Tayron X. The company has produced over 1.15 million units, with a total production value of 189.7 billion yuan, significantly contributing to the development of the automotive industry in TEDA and Tianjin.
