TEDA-Made Watertight Cable Overcomes 140MPa High-Pressure Technical Obstacle
Recently, the new watertight cable R&D project by Tianjin 609 Cable Co., Ltd., an enterprise based in TEDA, has achieved mass production. Utilizing the company’s self-developed composite water-blocking technology, the project has elevated the core pressure resistance index of watertight cables from 6MPa to 140MPa, marking a groundbreaking leap in performance. This breakthrough signifies that China’s independently developed watertight cable has successfully overcome the technical obstacle for stable operation under extreme high-pressure conditions at depths of up to 14,000 meters, ensuring reliable transmission of power and data, and injecting strong momentum into deep-sea exploration.
Established in 1943, Tianjin 609 Cable Co., Ltd. is one of China’s earliest wire and cable manufacturers and currently ranks among the country’s largest specialized R&D and production enterprises for electronic cables. With a registered capital of 91.53 million yuan, the company’s production base is located in Yet-sen Intelligence and Innovation Park in TEDA. Its products range includes high-frequency and high-speed transmission cables, stable phase coaxial cables, radiation-resistant high-and- low-temperature cables, as well as military and civilian high-temperature and room-temperature cables for ground control, vehicle, shipboard, sensor, new energy, and mining applications. The company has pioneered 13 products in China and holds 8 product and process patents.
