2025 List of 5G Factories Released! Two Companies in TEDA Make the List
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 2025 List of 5G Factories. Two companies from TEDA were included, namely Tianjin Pacific Drive Technology Co., Ltd. and Schaeffler Tianjin Company, accounting for 40% of Tianjin’s total number of enterprises making the list. This fully demonstrates TEDA’s leading position in digital and intelligent transformation, particularly in the deep integration of 5G technology and manufacturing.
In the practice of 5G factories, Pacific Drive collaborated with China Mobile Tianjin to build a 5G private network which integrates industrial internal networks and multi-standard wireless communications. They tailored network solutions for 12 specific scenarios, using a 5G factory platform to streamline the entire production process. This achieved interconnection among people, machinery, materials, and other elements, enhancing safety, production, and equipment management efficiency. Schaeffler Tianjin Company, in partnership with China Telecom, established an intelligently controlled automotive parts factory with full-chain capabilities. By applying advanced industrial networks and multiple smart scenarios, Schaeffler propelled its intelligent transformation.
The digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading of enterprises could not be possible without strong support from TEDA. TEDA has taken measures such as enhancing thematic training and policy interpretation, organizing communication service providers to form professional service teams offering “ one-on-one” support to enterprises, and vigorously promoting successful 5G factory cases. These efforts aim to empower enterprises with next-generation information technology for intelligent upgrading. As of now, TEDA has secured approval for six Ministry of Industry and Information Technology 5G factories, accounting for nearly one-third of the city’s total.
