This Sodium-ion Battery Project Lands in TEDA

On September 19, Energy Sodium Battery (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony with TEDA Administrative Commission. The project, which includes a 1GWh sodium-ion battery production line, a system integration production line, and a system integration R&D center, has landed in TEDA. With a total investment of 500 million yuan, the project will be located in the TEDA Comprehensive Bonded Zone and is scheduled to commence in October this year. It will establish an annual production capacity of 1GWh sodium-ion batteries, along with system integration production lines and an R&D center. Upon completion, the project will leverage the functional platform of the TEDA Comprehensive Bonded Zone to engage in businesses like bonded R&D, bonded testing, and bonded exhibition. It aims to become a high-tech, high-efficiency, and high-output manufacturing enterprise integrating R&D, production, exhibition, sales, and warehousing.

Energy Sodium Battery (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, production, and sales of sodium-ion batteries. In 2023, the company built the world’s first sodium-ion battery energy storage power station at the Dagang Oilfield of CNPC. In 2024, it became the supplier of new sodium battery energy storage for the power generation side of the Three Gorges Corporation’s Jinsha River Yunchuan Hydropower Station.
