TEDA-Denmark Biopharmaceutical Industry Workshop Held in Copenhagen

On October 14, local time, the TEDA-Denmark Biopharmaceutical Industry Workshop, hosted by the Administrative Commission of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Jin Xianghua, Vice Chairwoman of the TEDA Administrative Commission, attended the event and delivered a speech. More than 10 leading Danish biopharmaceutical companies and economic and trade associations, including Novonesis, Ascendis Pharma, ENZIDIA,2-control ApS, and Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF) were invited. They engaged in in-depth discussions with  the TEDA delegation, focusing on topics such as market expansion, R&D cooperation, clinical trials, and industrial chain synergy.

In her speech, Jin Xianghua extended a warm welcome to the Danish enterprises participating in the Industry Workshop. She highlighted that TEDA, as a leader among national-level economic-technological development areas, has established a complete biopharmaceutical industrial chain and ecosystem, offering vast market opportunities and robust industrial support for enterprise development. Jin Xianghua emphasized that Denmark is a global hub for life science innovation, home to world-leading enterprises like Novo Nordisk and Novonesis, as well as many leading companies in niche sectors. She noted that these companies' development directions align strongly with TEDA's, and some have already established a full-chain layout from R&D to production within the area. She expressed hope that this Industry Workshop would serve as an opportunity to foster broader cooperation between more Danish and Nordic biopharmaceutical enterprises and TEDA.

During the conference, a senior official from TEDA Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Industry Promotion Bureau presented the area's comprehensive advantages in the biopharmaceutical sector, including its industrial foundation, innovation environment, and talent pool, fully showcasing TEDA's industrial strength and development potential in this regard.

Danish company Novonesis shared its development journey in TEDA, highlighting its R&D and production layout, and highly praised TEDA's business environment and government services. Leading Danish enterprises such as Ascendis Pharma and ENZIDIA introduced their core strengths and development strategies at the conference, expressing their intention to further expand into the Chinese market, strengthen communication with TEDA, and establish long-term cooperative relationships.

This Industry Workshop provided a precise and efficient connection platform for TEDA and Danish biopharmaceutical companies, deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as innovative R&D, commercialization of research outcomes, and market expansion.

During their visit to Denmark, the TEDA delegation visited institutions such as the BioInnovation Institute, deepening industry interaction. They gained a systematic understanding of advanced experiences in areas like the operation models of Danish biopharmaceutical industry incubation platforms and the cultivation of small and medium-sized enterprises, offering valuable insights for TEDA to optimize its industrial ecosystem and enhance incubation efficiency. By establishing cooperative ties with the Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF) and the Association of Chinese Professionals in Denmark, TEDA further expanded its overseas investment promotion channels. Through visits to Novo Nordisk, and exchanges with multiple Danish companies including Ascendis Pharma and ENZIDIA, existing cooperation achievements were consolidated, and a number of high-quality projects currently under discussion were formed, laying a solid foundation for deeper and broader cooperation in the future.
