TEDA Unveils Top 30 Tech Innovation Enterprises

Recently, TEDA announced the 2024 list of its top 30 technology innovation enterprises. Companies such as CanSino Biologics Inc., Tianjin 712 Communication & Broadcasting Co., Ltd., and the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin stood out for their remarkable innovative capabilities and industrial contributions. Collectively, these enterprises hold 2,366 valid invention patents, accounting for 26.5% of TEDA’s total. Their R&D investment in 2024 reached 5.37 billion yuan, exceeding 50% of TEDA’s total R&D expenditure, positioning them as the core force driving the development of regional new quality productive forces.

In 2025, TEDA focused on building a systematic innovation support system. It introduced a new version of its technology policy, systematically covering multiple dimensions such as R&D support, talent attraction and cultivation, and technology finance. Additionally, TEDA successfully secured approval as one of Tianjin’s first pilot zones for future industries, covering such three core fields as future intelligence, life sciences, and advanced materials. In terms of substantial investment and platform development, TEDA’s annual R&D expenditure exceeded 10 billion yuan, and the number of provincial-level or higher R&D institutions surpassed 200, with both indicators ranking first in the city. Meanwhile, by establishing platforms for research-production collaboration and deepening industry-university-research partnerships, TEDA actively promoted the deep integration of the industrial and innovation chains.

The continuous optimization of the innovation ecosystem has directly translated into a series of impressive "hard metrics." In 2025, TEDA’s technology contract registration value exceeded 22 billion yuan, with over 2,100 technology contracts registered. In the Tianjin Science and Technology Awards selection, 27 achievements from 20 enterprises were honored. The innovation capacity of enterprises also saw simultaneous growth. TEDA maintained its leading position in the city in terms of the number of leopard enterprises, with over 400 above a designated scale identified as high-tech enterprises and 1,420 national technology-based SMEs included in the official registry.
