Rongda Park of WuXi AppTec Tianjin R&D Base Put into Service

On June 6th, the Rongda Park of WuXi AppTec Tianjin R&D Base was put into use. Located in TEDA East, with the general laboratory area of around 12,000 square meters, the Park will further expand the R&D capacity of medicine R&D international service department in WuXi AppTec and greatly support clients’ increasing needs of R&D. WuXi AppTec provides integrated and end-to-end new drugs R&D and production services for global biomedical industry, and sets up operation bases in Asia, Europe and North America. Established in TEDA in 2006, the Tianjin R&D base has grown into a key business base of WuXi AppTec.

As one of the earliest development zones and biomedical industry clusters in China, TEDA is home of more than 400 quality biomedical enterprises including Novo Nordisk, WuXi AppTec and Asymchem, and the assembling development momentum of biomedical industry has taken shape. In 2021, the output value of biomedical industry in TEDA was 40.46 billion yuan, accounting for half of Tianjin’s total biomedical output. With an increase of 46.9% year-on-year, the biomedical industry is the fastest-growing sector in TEDA.
