During the forum, APSEC announced the establishment of a joint operation center for future clean energy technology, launched in partnership with the China Energy Investment Corporation. APSEC also unveiled a flagship publication, the APEC Urban Energy Report, and recognized the contributions of international experts, partners and cities that have supported its mission over the past decade.
The forum has drawn wide participation from across the region, including official representatives from 15 APEC economies and delegates from 16 international organizations, among them the UN ESCAP, IRENA, ASEAN Centre for Energy and the World Economic Forum.
As usual, the forum’s discussions on energy access, energy transition and sustainable cities will be among the prioritized topics in the outcome documents of the APEC Leaders’ Informal Meeting, reflecting APEC’s ongoing commitment to energy security and transformation in the Asia-Pacific region.
