Founded in TEDA, the TEDA Auto Forum has been held successfully for 19 editions, closely linked to the area’s strong automotive industry foundation. TEDA is home to four leading vehicle manufacturers and over 200 parts and service companies. In 2023, TEDA’s automotive industry had an output value of RMB 168.2 billion, producing 803,500 vehicles, accounting for over 90% of Tianjin’s total vehicle production. The area has developed a complete automotive industry chain, covering everything from vehicle design to automotive electronics.
In recent years, TEDA has focused on electrification, intelligence, and connectivity, rapidly advancing the ecosystem for smart and new energy vehicles. The completion of Geely’s new energy commercial vehicle project and the signing of an agreement with FAW-Volkswagen for three new vehicle models, including two new energy vehicles, underscore TEDA’s leadership in this field.
This year marks both the 40th anniversary of TEDA and the 20th anniversary of the TEDA Auto Forum. Hosting the forum in this context is particularly meaningful as TEDA continues to lead the automotive industry’s transformation and upgrades, writing a new chapter in its development journey.
