China’s National Day holiday is just around the corner! How will you plan this holiday? A rich cultural and tourism feast is ready for travelers to visit TEDA: coastal tourism, art tours, concerts, Haihe River light shows, intangible cultural heritage performances, and other attracting activities. You can experience diverse cultural tourism in TEDA and enjoy the leisurely holiday time without traveling far.
Recommended Attractions: Tianjin Polar Ocean Park, Sea Gate Fair, Beitang Ancient Town, Dongjiang Coastal Park, and TEDA Aircraft Carrier Theme Park.
As a coastal city, Binhai New Area’s rich coastal activities are loved by both domestic and international tourists. Particularly, the four-season special cultural tourism brand “Seaside LOHAS Festival” launched in the past two years, showcases the area’s distinctive marine cultural charm. The autumn “Seaside LOHAS Festival” continues in TEDA during this National Day holiday. Tianjin Polar Ocean Park, together with the Sea Gate Fair, Beitang Ancient Town, the National Marine Museum of China, TEDA Aircraft Carrier Theme Park, and Dongjiang Coastal Park form a coastal adventure route with marine charm, allowing you to deeply enjoy marine culture amidst romantic seaside views and colorful activities.
By the Haihe Bay, the National AAAA Tourist Attraction Tianjin Polar Ocean Park, will present a brand-new holiday celebration. As the only polar museum in North China housing over 30,000 polar marine creatures, the park will have four major marine shows during the National Day holiday: Whales and Dolphins Theater, Joy Planet, Mermaid Princess, and the Legend of Whales and Moon. There will also be various exciting activities such as intangible cultural performances of Beating Iron Flower, European circus shows, clown parties, and joyful parades. Just a few hundred meters from the park is the Sea Gate Fair ready to open. Featuring the combination of the “China chic” culture display, specialties experiences, handmade cultural creations selling, and leisure entertainment, the Fair will have a trial operation starting 29th September and open on 1st October.
About 16 kilometers north of Tianjin Polar Ocean Park lies Beitang Ancient Town, built along the river and by the sea. This area has historically been a rich fishing port and a prosperous commercial dock. Today, the town, filled with historical charm and folk customs, is increasingly favored by tourists. Featuring ancient-style parades, boat tours, seafood tasting, circus performances, intangible cultural performances of Beating Iron Flower, and electronic music festivals, the town will offer tourists a unique marine cultural journey during the National Day holiday. You can also visit Dongjiang Coastal Park for sunrises, sea views, shells, concerts, seaside firework shows, and RV exhibitions. Visiting TEDA Aircraft Carrier Theme Park and watching a stunning drone fireworks show are also good options.
Recommended Activities: “Meet the Wonderful” Star-Studded Concert, the Dance Drama “Dream of the Red Chamber”, the Children’s Music Concert “Peter and the Wolf”, and the Special Exhibition “Hongyan Spirit Forever Radiant”.
TEDA is rich not only in tourism resources but also in cultural offerings. Major venues such as Binhai Cultural Center, a large flagship cultural carrier, and Tianjin Juilliard School, the first overseas campus of the Juilliard School, are located here. Regional brand events like the TEDA Summer Arts Festival and the Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival are gaining increasing recognition. Traveling with art and music is becoming a trend in TEDA.
During the National Day holiday, the Binhai Cultural Center will create a cultural and artistic feast by integrating elements of calligraphy, technology, and performance. The Binhai Science Museum will host science parades, experimental shows and other activities. The Binhai Art Museum will present the special exhibition “Hongyan Spirit Forever Radiant” to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. On the evening of 5th October, the “Meet the Wonderful” Star-Studded Concert of classic songs will kick off at TEDA Football Stadium, as five well-known artists: Hacken Lee (Li Keqin), Yu Kewei, Alex To (Du Dewei), Wu Mochou, and Wang Beiche will present a feast of great hits.
Recommended Destinations: Taifeng Park, Caidai (Ribbon) Park, Binhe (Riverside) Park, Ziyun Park.
If you prefer to avoid the crowds during the National Day holiday, consider gathering a few friends or taking your kids to a beautiful and tranquil park in TEDA. Set up a tent and enjoy some leisurely time, or cycle along the park’s greenways, appreciate the autumn scenery by the lakeside or along the Haihe River, and interact with birds and fish.
Taifeng Park, a large landscape park built on saline land, offers pleasant views year-round. In autumn, its blue skies, clear waters, gentle slopes, and vibrant foliage create picturesque scenery, making it an important spot for TEDA residents to enjoy the season and make camp. In recent years Caidai (Ribbon) Park and Binhe (Riverside) Park, built along the banks of the Haihe River, have become popular outdoor camping destinations, where visitors can enjoy the river’s beauty, visit coastal attractions like Chaoyin Temple, and watch the Haihe light show at night.
As a nationally recognized civilized city, Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area has focused on ecological construction since its inception, investing heavily in regional green construction. This has resulted in the establishment of beautiful and special large themed parks such as Taifeng Park, TEDA City Park, TEDA Botanic Garden, Ziyun Park, Caidai (Ribbon) Park, and Binhe (Riverside) Park, along with numerous pocket parks, creating an ecosystem that allows residents to enjoy greenery right at their doorstep. In recent years, TEDA has continued to enhance its landscaping efforts. The first phase of Binhe (Riverside) Park near Tanggunan Station was completed this summer, and the renovated Ziyun Park and the Lake Park of TEDA Fashion Square have reopened with a fresh look. These efforts illustrate TEDA’s commitment to creating an ecologically livable environment.
