Citywide Greening

TEDA has established an urban landscape pattern known as the “Three Belts, Six Corridors, and a Park City,” with public green spaces covering over 24 million square meters and a green coverage rate of 35.29%. The quality of the ecological environment continues to improve, with PM2.5 levels having decreased by 50.7% over the past decade.

Taifeng Park

It is the most distinctive urban landscape in TEDA. With a design reflecting the four seasons through open forest, grassplot, gentle slope and still water, the park covers a total area of 216,000 square meters. It is a large-scale manmade landscape park built on former salina.

Ziyun Park

It is an ecological park chosen as one of the “Top 10 Civilized Places” in Binhai New Area. With a coverage of 330,000 square meters, the park has 7 peaks of different styles, in which the main peak is 31.9m high. In the park, there are about 400,000 trees and other plants in more than 100 species. It integrates lake, mountain and forest into a whole, and presents magnificent scenery including mountain, water, sinuous paths, and randomly positioned strange rocks.

Riverside Park

Riverside Park is one of the iconic landmarks in the TEDA business district. Located on the eastern side of the Haihe River, the project creates a diverse network of slow-traffic routes for cycling, running, touring, and sightseeing, establishing a model demonstration zone for a waterfront slow-traffic system.

Ribbon Park

A landmark landscape in TEDA Business District, the park is like a colored ribbon located at the outer edge of Haihe river in the Xiangluowan Area. More than 4,000 colored-leaf trees and ground cover plants of diversified species make the park colored in three seasons and green in four seasons.

TEDA Landscape Plant Repository

As the largest plant repository in North China, TEDA Landscape Plant Repository is located on the Eighth Street of TEDA with a total area of 260,000 square meters. In this repository, 11 special gardens have been preliminarily built and nearly 6,000 species of plants (including cultivated species) have been successively collected.

Green Architecture

TEDA has been actively promoting the large-scale development of green buildings. We have established clusters of green buildings represented by TEDA MSD and the Yujiapu Financial District, with a total floor area of over 5 million square meters. These buildings utilize various advanced environmental protection and energy-saving technologies to create a “green office” environment.

Yujiapu – APEC’s First Low-Carbon Demonstration Town

As APEC’s first low-carbon demonstration town, Yujiapu was planned based on eight key indicator systems. With 100% green building coverage, it provides centralized cooling for 190,000 square meters of green buildings, and highly intensive development of 4 million square meters of underground space.

Clean Mobility

TEDA has comprehensively deployed a green travel system integrating rail, bus and non-motorized transport. With a low-carbon transportation network well developed, it also promotes the transition to new energy vehicles and increased the proportion of rail-water intermodal transport.

The “Yuxiang” Non-motorized Transport System Put into Operation

In January 2024, TEDA launched the “Yuxiang” Non-motorized Transport System project. Located on both sides of the Haihe River, the project spans approximately 3.5 kilometers in total, seamlessly connecting key landmarks such as the Polar Ocean World, Moon Island, Ribbon Park, Riverside Park, and the Tianjin Juilliard School. It provides citizens with a low-carbon, eco-friendly travel environment.

FAW Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck Project Kicks off Demonstration Operation in Tianjin

In August 2024, the launch ceremony for the FAW Toyota hydrogen-powered truck project was held at the FAW Toyota plant in Tianjin. These trucks generate electricity directly through the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, eliminating the emission of atmospheric pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (PM) produced during traditional fuel combustion, demonstrating significant environmental benefits.
