Judy Marks, Chair of Otis Worldwide, Visits Tianjin to Discuss Development

Recently, Judy Marks, Chair, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Otis Worldwide Corporation, visited Tianjin to share the company's strategies and practical initiatives for deepening its development in the city, demonstrating a strong commitment to deepening its roots in the Chinese market and strengthening cooperation in Tianjin.

“Tianjin has many older buildings and, like the rest of China, an aging population. Our strategy is very simple. Over the years, we have worked closely with the government, leveraging Tianjin’s industrial manufacturing capabilities to create a high quality of life for people. Otis in TEDA not only produces products for the country but also exports products from here to the rest of the world," said Judy Marks.

During her trip to China, Judy praised China's innovation and development prospects on multiple occasions. As a foreign-invested enterprise deeply rooted in Tianjin for over 40 years, Otis has consistently grown and progressed alongside the city. The company also hopes to seize opportunities, take root in China, deepen our presence in Tianjin, and work together to build new drivers of development.

Otis, headquartered in Connecticut, USA, is the world’s largest manufacturer, installer, and service provider of elevators and escalators. The group has established four subsidiaries in TEDA: Otis Elevator (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Otis Elevator (China) Co., Ltd., Otis Traction Elevator (China) Co., Ltd., and Zhong’ao Smart Technology Development Co., Ltd. In October 2023, it also set up the Otis North China R&D Center, achieving full-process “Made in TEDA” operations from R&D to production. Currently, the Otis TEDA base has become Otis’s largest elevator manufacturing base globally, the world’s only high-speed elevator production base, and a key global production base for traction machines, a key component of elevators.
