Phase I of CNCEC New Materials Innovation Platform Base Completed in TEDA

On April 3, the completion ceremony for Phase I of the CNCEC New Materials Innovation Platform Base was held in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone. This project, a major scientific and technological innovation initiative introduced by a central state-owned enterprise under TEDA's key investment strategy, was funded and constructed by the China Chemical Technology Research Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation (CNCEC). It will provide robust support for the innovative development of the new materials industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The CNCEC New Materials Innovation Platform Base project involves a total investment of 1 billion yuan and occupies an area of 183,000 square meters. It will be constructed in two phases. The first phase, with an investment of 600 million yuan, primarily includes the construction of infrastructure for the innovation platform, production facilities for organic catalysts, inorganic catalysts, and related auxiliary facilities. The base focuses on core areas such as pilot-scale testing and amplification, and the commercialization of high-end chemical products. It is dedicated to establishing a flexible, multifunctional, and general-purpose pilot innovation platform to bridge the "last mile" in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

A senior official from the China Chemical Technology Research Institute stated that, upon commissioning, the project will leverage the Institute’s proprietary intellectual property and process technologies to focus on three core business areas: high-end specialty catalysts, modified materials, and pilot-scale testing services. This initiative will establish a self-sustaining hub integrating technology R&D, technology commercialization, product revenue generation, and reinvestment into research—thereby providing robust support for the industrialization of key technologies, including advanced polyolefins, specialty catalysts, and high-performance resins.

Going forward, the base will serve as an important hub for pilot verification and industrialization of China Chemical's technological achievements, as well as a solid foundation for market connection, customer service, and empowering regional new materials industry development.
