Great Wall Motor Rolls off New Models at Tianjin Production Line and Kicks off Global Pre-Sales

On April 17, Great Wall Motor held a pre-sales launch event, officially starting global pre-sales of WEY V9X. It is the first model built on its next-generation full-power intelligent super platform, the One S. The company also rolled off the new model at its production line of the TEDA manufacturing base in Tianjin.

As the country’s first full-power intelligent super platform, the One platform was developed by Great Wall Motor with an investment of 3.2 billion yuan in TEDA. It accommodates five powertrain types: gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen fuel cell. The platform breaks down key components such as engines, batteries, and chassis into 329 standardized modules, enabling modular production based on different order requirements. This allows for rapid production switching between vehicle models and further improves delivery speed. Great Wall Motor’s Tianjin manufacturing base now is able to produce one unit of WEY V9X  every 84 seconds.

A representative from Great Wall Motor’s Tianjin Haval branch stated that the One platform is the world’s first native AI-powered full-vehicle platform. This year, a total of four new models from Great Wall Motor, including the WEY V9X, will be introduced to the Tianjin manufacturing base. 

In 2007, Great Wall Motor signed a cooperation agreement with TEDA, marking its official establishment in Tianjin. To date, the company has set up six entities in Tianjin, including the Tianjin manufacturing base, parts enterprises, and logistics companies, with in-house production capabilities for core components such as engines and transmissions, while providing over 10,000 job opportunities for Tianjin and surrounding provinces and cities.

As one of the hubs of Tianjin’s automotive industry, TEDA has brought together leading automakers including FAW Toyota, FAW-Volkswagen, and Great Wall Motor, along with over 200 auto parts suppliers, forming a complete and efficiently coordinated automotive industrial chain. In 2025, TEDA’s total vehicle output reached 679,000 units, accounting for 86% of Tianjin’s total vehicle production.
