TEDA’s 31 Achievements Secure 2025 Tianjin Science and Technology Awards

04-23-2026

On April 20,Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) won 31 awards in the Tianjin Science and Technology Awards, including one Special Prize and one First Prize for Technological Invention, seven First Prizes and 19 Second Prizes in Science and Technology Progress. The winning achievements span key industrial sectors such as information technology application innovation, high-end equipment, biomedicine, new energy, new materials, and artificial intelligence. They are closely aligned with the region's "4+2+X" future industrial development system, underscoring TEDA's leading role in the city's technological innovation landscape.

Multiple breakthroughs and highlights emerged from TEDA's achievements in this year's awards. The National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin led the development of "Multi-Protocol High-Performance Communication Network and Interconnect Chipset Technology," which won the special prize for Technological Invention. AtomRobot's "Key Technologies for Industrializing High-Speed Parallel Robots" achieved a breakthrough for an independent brand and ranked first in domestic market share. China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corporation (PipeChina), in collaboration with Bohai Equipment, developed "Key Technologies for Controlling Girth Weld Fractures in High-Grade Steel Pipelines and Development of New Pipe and Welding Materials," helping establish a safety control system for long-distance oil and gas pipelines. Tianjin University of Science and Technology broke through bottlenecks in agricultural product preservation by leading the development of "Key Technologies and Equipment for Phase-Change Temperature-Controlled  Preservation Technology for Fruits and Vegetables." Additionally, local enterprises such as JingnuoData, LingGas, and the environmental protection subsidiary of CNOOC made key technological breakthroughs in fields such as chemical safety, industrial solid waste treatment, and fresh produce preservation.

In recent years, TEDA has continuously improved its whole-chain technological innovation ecosystem. It has provided services such as targeted guidance, specialized training, and one-on-one coaching to help enterprises apply for science and technology awards more effectively. It has also built platforms to facilitate the efficient flow of innovation factors, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Technology Achievement Matchmaking Conference and small-roundtable sessions for technology commercialization. Backed by a supportive technology innovation policy system, TEDA offers matching rewards for national and municipal award winners, forming a virtuous cycle of innovation output, achievement commercialization, and industrial upgrading.
