Unitree Robotics Signs Strategic Agreement with TEDA

05-28-2026

On May 27, during the 2026 World Intelligence Expo, Unitree Robotics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Unitree Robotics) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Tianjin Municipal Government and TEDA. Both parties will leverage Tianjin’s advantages in talent, industry, and port logistics to carry out deep cooperation in application scenarios and R&D, aiming to promote the innovative application of embodied intelligence in TEDA and accelerate the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei innovation hub for the embodied intelligence industry.

Combining Tianjin's industrial and policy advantages, Unitree Robotics will fully leverage its advantage in full-stack self-developed core technologies to promote innovative R&D solutions for applications adapted to scenarios in Northern China. With TEDA as an important operational hub, the Company will focus on key scenarios such as security inspection, fire rescue, education and training, and industrial operations and maintenance, promoting the application of intelligent robots in fields like ports, petrochemicals, and equipment manufacturing to accelerate the transition of frontier technologies from laboratories to production lines and application fields, while actively driving the regional industrialization of secondary development achievements. Both parties will also deepen the industry-university-research collaborative innovation mechanism, efficiently integrating resources from Tianjin’s universities and research institutes to build a system for industry-education integration and school-enterprise collaborative talent cultivation. Through diversified models such as joint talent training, co-construction of research projects, and collaborative transformation of achievements, they aim to cultivate and expand a professional talent echelon in the field of embodied intelligence, providing strong support for the high-quality development and core competitiveness of the regional embodied intelligence industry.

Chen Li, co-founder of Unitree Robotics, stated that Tianjin possesses robust advantages in talent, industry, and port resources. The City’s advanced intelligent manufacturing industry and solid robotic supply chain foundation provide a wealth of scenarios for the development and application of embodied AI robots. This partnership is a key move for Unitree Robotics to expand its presence in the Northern China market. Looking ahead, the company will accelerate and deepen pragmatic cooperation, deploy its products and business in Tianjin, and systematically promote the implementation of Unitree’s embodied AI robots across various fields.

This partnership is a key initiative for TEDA to execute the detailed implementation of its Three-Year Action Plan for Embodied Intelligence and stands as a significant outcome of efforts to attract high-end scientific and technological innovation resources. Hong Shicong, Party Secretary of TEDA CPC Committee and Chairman of the TEDA Administrative Commission, stated that TEDA will provide all-round service support to facilitate cooperation between Unitree Robotics and Tianjin, the Binhai New Area, and TEDA. Moving forward, TEDA will leverage the "Station-Industry-City" integrated development plan to expand operational space and strengthen resource guarantees for the company, further refining the embodied intelligence industrial ecosystem and jointly promoting the industry's high-quality development.
