SEW’s Fifth Plant Breaks Ground in TEDA with Total Investment of 2 Billion Yuan

On May 29, the groundbreaking ceremony for the fifth plant of SEW-Eurodrive (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was held in TEDA. As a key strategic initiative by a global leader in the transmission industry, the SEW Fifth Plant project involves a total investment of RMB 2 billion. The facility will introduce a full suite of internationally leading manufacturing and precision testing equipment to achieve end-to-end high-precision processing and intelligent online inspection, primarily manufacturing medium, large, and heavy-duty industrial gear units. Scheduled for completion and operation in 2027, the project will significantly enhance SEW’s production capacity and technological edge in high-end heavy-duty transmission equipment, serving as a milestone in the company’s long-term commitment to and expansion within the Chinese market.

During the ceremony, Zhang Shengli, Executive Chairman of SEW China Group, stated that TEDA has been the core hub for SEW’s strategic development in China. He noted that over three decades of partnership, the region's comprehensive industrial ecosystem and efficient, pragmatic government services have consistently bolstered the Company's confidence in remaining rooted in TEDA and increasing its investments. Moving forward, SEW will continue to build on its presence in TEDA, resonating with regional development to contribute to the quality and efficiency of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
