Great Wall Motor Tianjin R&D Center Lands in TEDA

Recently, Tianjin Great Wall Motor R&D Co., Ltd. was registered and established in TEDA, marking the official launch of the Great Wall Motor Tianjin R&D Center.

As an integral part of Great Wall Motor's Technical R&D System, the Tianjin R&D Center possesses full-stack automotive intelligence R&D capabilities from product design to project management, spanning intelligent cockpits, autonomous driving, and cloud platforms. Supported by a comprehensive software development toolchain, stability laboratories, and cloud testing infrastructure, the Center not only handles R&D for global mass-produced models, but also focuses on software research and product development for intelligent cockpits and autonomous driving, specifically in the areas of operating systems, software ecosystems, and AI technology. Furthermore, the Center is primarily responsible for the R&D of overseas connected vehicle backend systems, providing technical support for telematics operations across various international markets.

Leveraging Tianjin's high-end intelligent manufacturing cluster, the Tianjin R&D Center will adopt "AI-defined vehicles" as its core strategy, focusing on the deep integration of intelligent products and technological innovation. By consistently attracting top-tier regional talent, the Center expects to grow its R&D team to between 250 and 300 staff, becoming a pivotal pillar of Great Wall Motor's global R&D network. 

In recent years, TEDA has accelerated the transformation and upgrading of its automotive industry, continuously strengthening its core competitiveness in intelligent R&D. The Area is home to over 10 R&D institutions—including the CATARC (Tianjin) Automotive Engineering Research Institute, FAW Toyota R&D Branch, Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch, AVL R&D Center, Schaeffler Tianjin R&D Center, and Launch Design—that focus on breakthroughs in key common technologies such as intelligent connectivity, information security, new energy integration, and intelligent electric drives, thereby fueling the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Pan-Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industrial Park and empowering high-quality industrial growth.
