Jiemei Technology North China R&D and Production Headquarters Begins Trial Operation in TEDA with RMB 1.45 Billion of Investment

Recently, Phase I of the North China R&D and Production Headquarters of Zhejiang Jiemei Electronic and Technology Co., Ltd. officially entered the trial production stage in TEDA. This municipal-level key project, with a total investment of RMB 1.45 billion, is developed in two phases. Phase I includes eight release film coating lines, two of which are now in trial production. Construction of Phase II featuring a BOPET base film production line commenced in March 2026, with trial production expected in the first quarter of 2027. Production lines for cover tape and carrier tape will be developed simultaneously.

The project primarily manufactures thin carrier tape, cover tape, release film, and upstream base film materials, providing essential supporting products for electronic component leaders at home and abroad such as Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Panasonic. Regarding technical breakthroughs, the project has achieved mass production of ultra-thin, ultra-low roughness release film and high-strength PET base film (tensile strength ≥ 180MPa), with its key performance indicators meeting international standards, thereby filling a significant gap in China’s high-end, electronic-grade film materials market.

In terms of industrial layout, the project leverages Tianjin's superior location and transportation to implement a localized, full-chain deployment spanning base film, release film, and carrier tape. The project has not only optimized Jiemei Technology's regional industrial distribution with faster response speed for key North China clients, but also injected robust momentum into the high-quality development of TEDA's electronic information industry.
