PipeChina Tianjin Comprehensive Testing Base Breaks Ground in TEDA

On July 28, the construction of the Pipeline In-Line Inspection Device R&D and Testing Center project, part of the PipeChina Tianjin Comprehensive Testing Base, officially commenced in the TEDA Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park. With a total investment of RMB 7 billion, the Base will feature three major testing facilities focusing on smart pipeline spatiotemporal collaboration, pipeline-environment coupling, and multi-medium integrated pipeline transportation. It is equipped with ten iconic testing devices, including full-scale traction test rigs for pipeline in-line inspection devices, pipe-soil coupling simulation systems, and testing and verification platforms for pipeline operation and maintenance equipment. Upon completion, the Base will establish a full-chain R&D and testing platform covering indoor experimentation, pilot-scale amplification, testing and verification, and industrial testing, as well as an integrated testing and verification platform combining AI with core businesses.

In terms of functional positioning, integrating eight core functions, namely technological R&D, testing and verification, collaborative innovation, promotion and application, practical training, talent cultivation, technical exchange, and achievement exhibition, the Base is dedicated to becoming a core innovation carrier for PipeChina, an original technology source for the pipeline industry, and a world-class innovation highland for new energy pipeline transportation.

Since its inception, PipeChina has maintained a deeply cooperative strategic partnership with TEDA. To date, the group has established five second-tier entities in TEDA, building a full layout that covers energy storage and transportation, technological R&D, and operation and maintenance services. Looking ahead, the two sides will continue to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as the cultivation of strategic emerging industries, technological breakthroughs, energy infrastructure construction, and urban gas supply security.
