China's First Fully Automated Polymer Production Line for Offshore Oilfield Chemical Flooding Breaks Ground in TEDA

On August 25, China's first fully automated polymer production line for offshore oilfield chemical flooding broke ground in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone. As a crucial part of the CNOOC Oilfield Chemicals Nangang Construction Project, the construction of this production line marks a pivotal step forward for Nangang Industrial Zone along its path of intelligent and high-end petrochemical development.
With a total designed annual capacity of 58,000 tons, the CNOOC Oilfield Chemicals Nangang Construction Project will build six production lines for dry powder polymers and emulsion polymers, covering a full product range including instant salt-tolerant polymers, temperature- and salt-resistant polymers, and polyacrylamide emulsions. Equipped with a distributed control system (DCS), the project enables end-to-end automated, precise control from raw material feeding to finished product packaging, ensuring full traceability of process data. Scheduled for mechanical completion in September 2027, the project when fully completed, will form CNOOC's largest production base for oilfield chemicals in combination with the Nangang Chemical Plant commissioned in 2021.
