Global Pet Food Leader Mars Royal Canin Reinvests in TEDA

On August 26, the TEDA Administrative Commission and Mars Petcare (China) Co., Ltd. officially signed a memorandum of cooperation. According to the memorandum, Mars' subsidiary Royal Canin will continuously ramp up its investment in Tianjin to comprehensively upgrade its business operations relying on the Royal Canin Tianjin Factory located in TEDA. The upgrade entails the expansion and technological iteration of dry and wet pet food production lines, as well as new product development and innovation. In addition, Royal Canin will also broaden cooperation across the pet health industry and actively participate in the development of new pet consumption scenarios in Tianjin.

Mars Incorporated is a world-renowned food manufacturing and pet care enterprise, with Royal Canin standing as the largest pet health brand under Mars Petcare. Mars Petcare (China) Co., Ltd. was incorporated in TEDA in March 2019 under Mars Petcare, primarily manufacturing various pet foods including dry food, wet food, and treats, with a cumulative investment of RMB 1 billion. "Signing this memorandum of cooperation with TEDA sends a strong and firm signal of Royal Canin's investment in China", said Xu Juan, General Manager of Royal Canin China, adding that Royal Canin will continue to leverage its global R&D resources to elevate local production, innovation, and supply capacities moving forward.

Currently, TEDA has gathered leading pet industry enterprises such as Mars Royal Canin, Nestlé Purina, Ringpai, and CP Group, establishing a nationwide leading position in the high-end pet food manufacturing segment.
