TEDA Welcomes National Day with Continuous and Exciting Events
Tianjin, the largest port city in Northern China and renowned as the “Hometown of Traditional Folk Art,” boasts a rich cultural heritage. The Beijing-Tianjin high-speed railway hub, known as the Binhai Railway Station, is located here. It takes just 22 minutes to reach Tianjin’s downtown area and 56 minutes to reach Beijingnan Railway Station from this location. The roads within the area are open, making it easy to reach your destination by public transport or driving.
Taking the high-speed train to TEDA, every stop offers scenic views. The Binhai Railway Station resembles a massive seashell embedded in the area. It’s the world’s first single-layer large-span shell dome steel structure project and the country’s first landscaped underground station. The station features an artistic and transparent grid dome, which adds to its aesthetic appeal. Stepping out of the station, you’ll be greeted by vast fields of blooming roses.
What is the experience like when you ascend the world’s eighth-tallest skyscraper? The Tianjin Chow Tai Fook Financial Center’s observation platform has made a grand return. Standing on the observation platform of the world’s eighth-tallest building, you can take in the panoramic cityscape, experiencing the joy of seeing the world from a bird’s eye view. Tianjin is the birthplace of modern industry in Northern China. In TEDA, you can explore historical sites such as the Dagukou Fort Ruins Museum, the Dagu Shipyard Site of Beiyang Fleet, and Tanggu South Railway Station, which is the earliest train station that is completely preserved in China. It offers a close-up experience of modern industrial civilization in China and provides insights into the history of the Chinese people’s resistance against foreign aggression in modern times.
Of course, you must take a stroll through the streets of Beitang Ancient Town, an old town with a history of over 600 years that preserves architectural styles from the Ming and Qing dynasties. During the National Day holiday, attractions like Guanlan Academy, Shuanglei Fort, Beitang Story Museum and folk culture markets will gradually open.
When you visit a coastal city, your visit isn’t complete without experiencing a boat trip to the sea. Departing from Beitang Wharf, you can enjoy the seascape and immerse yourself in the coastal fishing culture.
The banks of the Haihe River are picturesque. Taking a Haihe River cruise, you can admire the charming scenery along both banks, the well-planned buildings, and attractions like the Tianjin Juilliard School and Chaoyin Temple. If you’re there between 13:30 and 15:30, you’ll witness the spectacular scene of the Haihe River Movable Bridge opening in action. In the evening, you can take a leisurely stroll along the Haihe River and enjoy the dazzling display of building lights.
During the National Day holiday, Tianjin Haichang Polar Ocean Park’s Autumn Carnival will make a grand opening. A popular character “Nailong” from an online game will guide you to see a variety of polar marine life, spectacular animal show. TEDA Football Stadium has been reopened recently. On the evening of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the match between Tianjin Jinmen Tiger FC and Chengdu Rongcheng FC will kick off here. You can watch a live football match and experience the passion of the stadium firsthand.

The 3A-rated national scenic area, Ziyun Park, was built on the old alkaline wastes. The park combines lakes, high hills, and woods, presenting a magnificent spectacle. TEDA Plant Resource Repository is the only forestry and grassland genetic resource repository in Tianjin, featuring 11 specialized gardens with different plant themes. The Qianhui Garden is especially vibrant and colorful in October, making it the perfect one for viewing. Taifeng Park boasts seven differently shaped artificial lakes.
