Nestlé’s First Plant-based Production Line in Asia Put into Production in TEDA
On December 9, NestléChina announced that its first plant-based production line in Asia was officially completed and put into operation in TEDA at the press conference. Nestlé will also launch “Harvest Gourmet” plant-based products in China at the end of this month.
In the depressed economy affected by the epidemic, Nestle increased its capital by 730 million yuan, the largest investment in China this year, to build four projects including its Asia’s first plant-based product line in TEDA. “Our investment in the production line is the best embodiment of Nestlé’s long-term determination to invest in China.” Luo Shide, chairman and CEO of Nestlé in Greater China.
TEDA is one of the important development areas of Nestlé in China. Since its first factory was opened in 1994, Nestlé has continuously increased investment. At present, Nestlé has built 3 factories, 1 quality assurance center and 1 product innovation center in TEDA, with more than 1,000 employees.
A person in charge said that Nestlé will continue to deepen cooperation with TEDA in the next step, continuously promote the development of the regional food processing industry chain, and help the transformation and upgrading of Tianjin’s food industry.
