Tianjin Nangang Railway Opened to Traffic

Recently, Tianjin Nangang Railway has completed and opened to traffic. At the same time, the supporting railway and special line of Huadian project in Nangang Industrial Zone are under construction.

With the joint effort of China Railway and Tianjin, Nangang Railway is a key project, which follows high standard of construction. Starting from Wanjia Wharf Station, it is a collecting and distributing railway connecting Nangang Industrial Zone and national railways, with a total length of 39.77 km and a total investment of about 4.305 billion yuan.

At the beginning of 2014, Nangang Railway started the construction. All parties jointly overcame the difficulties of land expropriation and removal, complex geological conditions and high safety risk coefficient, and successfully completed the project.

The open traffic of Nangang Railway will further promote the construction of dual-city development pattern, namely Tianjin and Binhai. It is also of great significance to the construction of comprehensive transportation system and the increasing transportation demand of Binhai New Area. Meanwhile, for Nangang Industrial Zone, it can also make effective use of external resources, output processing products conveniently, form a good situation of interactive development of industrial chain, which will affect Northeast, North China and East China.
