Vestas’ New Generator Plant Opened in TEDA

On June 18, Vestas’ new generator factory was completed and opened in TEDA. The new factory has an investment of about 200 million yuan and a design capacity of 1,500 units per year, which is mainly used to produce parts of generator for Vestas’ 6MW EnVentus™ wind turbine platform. Its output value in 2021 is expected to reach 800 million yuan. During the opening of the new plant, Vestas China’s largest onshore single power model, 6MW new nacelle, went off the production line. After the construction of the new plant, there are 2 generator plants in Vestas Tianjin production base, which will further optimize the manufacturing layout of Vestas in China and the world.

Vestas Tianjin production base was built in 2005 and officially put into production in 2009, integrating the production and manufacture of nacelle, blade, generator and control system. It is Vestas’ largest integrated production base of wind power equipment and the unique such production base worldwide. So far, the accumulated investment of Vestas Tianjin production base exceeds 2.1 billion yuan, and the generators produced here account for 75% of Vestas’ global generator supply.
