PPG’s New Project Starts Construction

Recently, PPG Tianjin Electric Vehicle & Intelligent Travel Innovative Application Center broke ground. It is one more step of PPG in TEDA after the settlement of its Global Coatings Innovation Center. With an investment of around 200 million yuan, material application laboratory and test line related to power battery will be built for the application and R&D of single coatings and combined coatings used for automotive battery parts in the Center. It will speed up the industrial application of new technology, promote the safety, endurance mileage, sustainability and durability of electric vehicles. The project is scheduled to complete in 2023.

Yan Caiming, general manager of Asia-Pacific Area of PPG, said, “TEDA Administrative Commission provides dedicated support from site selection, improvement of surrounding facilities to examination and approval process for the construction. The establishment of the Center will further accelerate the pace of PPG’s product innovation and sustainable development in relevant field. Meanwhile, it will also consolidate its ‘In China, For China’ strategic target.”
