SINOPEC Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry Tianjin Scientific Test Base Commissioned

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry Tianjin Scientific Test Base in TEDA Nangang Industrial Park was formally commissioned and successfully produced polyethylene catalyst and polypropylene catalyst. The performance evaluation results of these products were excellent and met the design expectations. In addition, the commissioning of other units at the base will be carried out successively.

The project is an important part of the SINOPEC Nangang High-end New Material Industry Cluster Project, and is also SINOPEC’s largest scientific research investment project to date. It has a total investment of 2.24 billion yuan and will be constructed in two phases. In the first phase, 14 sets of pilot plants for polyolefin polymerisation, polyolefin catalysts and special elastomers will be built. Upon completion, the base will be built into a comprehensive chemical science R&D center integrating polymerisation process development, performance materials R&D, high-end chemical preparation and complete sets of technology incubation, and will become the world’s largest pilot base for new chemical materials with the most comprehensive coverage of research fields.
